Structural floor slab for new distribution centre
Lidl RDC, Newbridge
Twinted were selected to construct the 60,100m2 floor slab for Lidl's new distribution centre in Newbridge, Ireland.
Slab depths varied from 200mm to 300mm to suit different load requirements from the client. The construction included 2 layer slabs (separated by high-density insulation layers) for the new freezer area and also under a potential future freezer area.
The 60,100m2 slab was constructed over 46 pouring days over 4 phases of work to fit in with the progress of steelwork, roofing and cladding on the site. A lot of the slab area included underfloor heating pipework, therefore Twintec worked closely with the main contractor to manage their works alongside this.
